Ever notice how the people you trust most online don’t start by selling you something? They start by teaching. It’s one of the things I learned from reading tons of blog posts and watching YouTube videos. They always showed why it matters before trying to sell anything. Here’s the truth: If you’re always trying to sell, people stop paying attention. For example, if every post sounds like this: “Buy my $16 template pack!” Try it this way instead: “I remember feeling stuck every week, signing up, installing and uninstalling, a big drama for just designing pins for Pinterest. I’d waste so much time. Then I tried Canva and made 10 different templates I can easily customize and use for a whole week. It made things much less stressful and helped me pin more without overthinking. Here’s how I use it, and you can try this too.” But if you help someone learn, even a small thing, they’ll remember you. That’s how you grow, even if you’re just starting out. So what can you do? ➡️ Use AI to brainstorm ideas, not sales angles. AI is great for cooking up content drafts. You don’t have to push a product to be helpful. For example, you can ask AI for Threads post ideas about using simple Canva templates to plan content, instead of just asking it to write ads for your template pack. This way, you find helpful things to share, not just things to sell. By the way, if you want to see how to use AI to actually make things easier, you can check out this guide on TalkBitz about simple AI skills that help you skip boring work. ➡️ Share how you think, not just what to do. Show how you do things, not just what you finished. Share the messy parts too. It makes your advice feel real. ➡️ Use real data or simple stories. A quick example or sharing a mistake you made helps people remember. Don’t just talk about it, show it. ➡️ End with a next step or a question. Ask, “What’s the hardest part about planning your posts each week?” And say something like, “If you want to make it easier, you can grab my free template on the newsletter page. After you try it, you’ll see how much simpler things can be, and if you want even more, there’s a full pack too.” Your goal isn’t to sell right away. Teach one useful thing and you’ll build trust, one loyal person at a time. Stay curious, Minosh. |

An influencer named Alix Earle just did something most influencer brands can’t really do. She launched a skincare line in March. Made $1 million in just five minutes. Everything sold out in 10 hours. And no, it wasn’t because she has 14 million followers. It’s because she did the one thing most people are too scared to do when launching a product. She turned her biggest weakness into the conversation. Here’s the thing about influencer brands. Most of them don’t work out, and it’s not because...
Okay, you probably saw this already, right? That $3.99 lavender tote bag from Trader Joe’s went viral on TikTok and turned into a whole thing. People were lining up, stores had to set limits, and next thing you know, resale listings were popping up everywhere, like eBay, Etsy, you name it. So yeah, it looked like just a simple product, but that was not the real story. The thing is, the bag did not blow up just because it was limited. It blew up because people already cared. That is the part...
It was 2009, and that’s when Chrome launched. Google had many things they could’ve shown: tabs, security tools, settings, and all the other stuff it had. But instead, it led with one simple idea: speed. “The Fast Browser.” And that worked. They used this line over and over in different ads. It’s strong. But stop for a second and think about why all those features were not mentioned by Google. That reminded me of something a lot of business owners do by accident. They try to make their offer...
