⚠️ Is the “Just Google It” Era Over?

Nearly 80% of readers find my blog from Pinterest, not Google. And it’s not only Pinterest. The same thing is still happening across other platforms, too.

Yes, more people now find things on social apps, on ChatGPT, and can even buy products directly there.

You may have heard that a few weeks ago, OpenAI released “Buy it in ChatGPT.”

When people ask shopping questions like “best running shoes under $100,” ChatGPT will soon show products from places like Etsy and Shopify.

You can even buy right inside the chat, without opening another site.

So yes, people will be able to buy products directly, not only through social media but also through AI, without even going to a typical search engine first.

It’s a sign of how people will discover, decide, and yes, buy in the future.

So what can we do about it? It’s time to think ahead, not panic.

➡️ Know where your people hang out

Before you write a blog post or make social media content, think about which apps your audience actually uses. Pinterest? Instagram? TikTok? X? Threads? Bluesky? Go where they spend time, not just where everyone says you should be.

➡️ Speak their language

Write like you’re talking to a friend over tea, not giving a business pitch. Avoid fancy phrasing or stiff structure. Keep it real and easy to read.

Anyway, if you’re thinking about how to reach more clients for your small business, here’s a simple step-by-step guide if you need a hand.

➡️ Answer real questions

People ask, “how do I start,” “what works,” or “why should I pick this?” Build your content around those real questions. It makes your content more helpful and more likely to appear in voice, AI, or social searches.

➡️ Track what’s working

Check your stats every week. Did your last post bring visitors from Instagram or Pinterest? Use what works, and don’t be afraid to tweak things.

The old “just Google it” isn’t enough now. Stay easy to find by showing up where your audience actually searches.

Stay curious,

Minosh.

Yesterday, I read about a creator named Jackie Dubois. She started a TikTok account to share her paintings. She grew past 230,000 followers, and her art sales turned into a six-figure income. Then she quit social media. Not because she failed. Because the push to post all the time, deal with comments, and stay on was messing with her mind. She said in her own words: “It’s really overwhelming — the highs and the lows.” She is not the only one feeling this. Her story lines up with what the new...

Last night, I was reading a Forbes article about connected marketing for 2026. It talked about how big brands are finally treating all their channels as one system, not random posts. And I thought, this is exactly where many online business people get stuck. See, for example, you post on Instagram, write a blog, send an email, but nothing seems linked. The idea is simple. Every channel should help guide one person on one clear path. Start with the first click, build up trust step by step, and...

You sit at your laptop, adjust the gaps, feel good, and press publish. Then someone checks it half asleep on a bus, holding on with one hand, with your whole content packed into a tiny phone screen. Most people do that now. Around 96% use the internet on their phones (Global Overview Report, DataReportal), even if they sometimes use a laptop or desktop (60%) too. Still, mobile is where most of the action happens. So if your content looks good only on your laptop but is hard to read on a...
