🧹 Time for a Winter App Cleanout

A friend of mine told me something interesting last week.

“Minosh, I’m done grabbing those holiday software deals.”

I asked him why.

He said he used to grab every offer that looked useful.

Twenty percent off this. Lifetime access to that.

Every new tool the internet treated like it could fix his whole life with one button.

At first, he thought he was being clever, saving money, and felt like a secret tech ninja collecting weapons.

Then he noticed something.

Most of those tools sat there untouched.

And the worst part, he was walking through mud every time he tried to get work done.

Password reset here.

Update this app there.

A popup from some tool he tried months ago and forgot to cancel.

Every simple task turned into a choice between many tools.

If this feels familiar, your tool stack might be the problem, not you.

Big companies run on huge software stacks and many of us copy that without noticing.

The result is too many logins, too many settings, and very little focus.

Let’s make sure this stops happening to you.

➡️ Make a tool map

Write down every tool you use, how much it costs each month, and what job it does.

Just one simple list.

If your list still has ten different apps just for notes, plans, or docs, Notion can handle most of those in one spot.

That’s what I use every day, along with Todoist for my personal stuff.

➡️ Cut what does nothing

Look at the last 60 days. If a tool has not saved clear time or helped you make money, cancel it. You can always come back later if you really miss it.

You don’t need both ChatGPT and Claude either. Pick the one you use the most and drop the other.

➡️ Pick one tool per job

Choose one main tool each for email, website, analytics, and AI. Stick to those. Only add a new tool when you have a real reason, not just curiosity or if you see a cool offer you are going to miss out on tomorrow.

If your setup looks plain but you actually know what’s going on, you’re winning.

Stay curious,

Minosh.

Last week, I almost bought a Type-C charging cable online. Then I paused and read the reviews. Not the “it works” reviews. The “what this brand stands for” ones. I wasn’t comparing prices anymore. I was checking if this was a brand I felt okay buying from. That small moment reminded me of something research keeps showing in 2025 and heading into 2026: people are buying with their values, not just their wallets. This isn’t only about being “nice” or “ethical”. It’s about trust. And trust turns...

Happy New Year. Feels like nothing slowed down after COVID. Anyway, back to the internet being the internet. Last week, I saw someone saying on Facebook, “Influencer marketing is dead.” Is it? Two scrolls later, I read a story on Business Insider that Unilever told its teams to work with 20 times more creators, not as a test, but as a main plan. Big brands don’t scale stuff like that for fun. They do it because it sells. Yes, influencer or creator marketing didn’t die. It got more serious....

Imagine you run a small online store selling phone cases. You check orders every morning with your tea. Then one morning, you get locked out of your dashboard. Your inbox is full. A refund issue. A confused customer. A security alert you have never seen before. You shut down ads, pause payments, and you spend hours trying to understand what went wrong. Nothing grows that day. Nothing moves forward. You’re just overwhelmed and looking for help. That’s a wasted day, and it’ll take weeks to get...
