🤯 Why Your ChatGPT Outputs Suck

Most people still treat ChatGPT like Google.

They ask a vague question, get a vague result, and blame the tool.

But here’s the thing, prompting isn’t about typing, it’s about thinking.

The Truth Most Don’t See

You’re probably using AI to speed up tasks.

But what if you could use it to speed up your thinking?

If you’re a creator, freelancer, or founder, you’ve likely felt this:

“I don’t know how to ask it right.”

“My outputs feel basic or off.”

“I keep tweaking… but it’s never exactly right.”

Sound familiar?

The real problem isn’t AI. It’s how most people don’t think in prompts.

To make AI actually work for you, you need to think like a system builder.

Here’s what better thinkers (and pro prompt writers) do differently:

âś… They set clear outcomes before typing

âś… They layer prompts to build context

âś… They use AI to co-design the task

What You Can Do (Today)

So, how can you get better outputs next time?

Here’s a simple formula:

[Your goal] + [Your raw info] + [Any rules or limits] + [What “good” looks like]

For example: Write a short welcome email (under 100 words) for someone who just bought a Canva template for small business use. The tone should be friendly and encouraging, not overly casual. Include a link to access the template [link here]. Mention one simple tip to get started quickly. End with a thank-you.

That’s a thinking prompt. It’s not just a command.

AI Does Not Fix Bad Thinking, It Reflects It

Most people treat AI like magic, but it’s not magic, it’s a mirror for your thinking.

If your thinking is clear, the results will be too.

So don’t just type prompts. Learn to think in them.

🔮 Bonus tip: When you’re not sure how to write a good prompt, ask AI: “What information do you need from me to do this well?”

I had a friend who started selling wall art and he strongly believed that if he built something great, people would just show up. He launched, waited, and waited some more. Then, after a few months, I asked him how the business was going. He said he just gave up on it. He really started it, and that’s a good thing. But after all that work, it was just…quiet. Too quiet. But what he missed was telling people why they should choose him. In other words, weak positioning. He could have chosen who...

A friend once told me they bought a Kindle Paperwhite just because they saw a reel about how it changed someone’s reading habits. It’s not an ad screaming for attention, just a real person sharing their story. That’s the magic of user-generated content, it feels real. When someone sees real stories from real people, they’re more likely to trust and buy. Big brands know this, but it’s even more powerful for small businesses or creators like you. 👉 Ask for simple stories Reach out to your...

Last year, I made a 50-page free guide. I thought it was amazing. Guess what? Almost no one downloaded it. Then I made a 1-page checklist that solved one specific problem, a simple social media basics checklist. That simple thing got more downloads in one week than the big guide didn’t get in months. That’s when I learned, a good lead magnet, yes I’m talking about the free resource offered in exchange for users’ email address, doesn’t have to be big, it just has to be useful right now. #1:...
