👀 First 15 Seconds Matter More Than You Think

You walk into a store. If the first 15 seconds don’t grab your attention, you’ll probably walk right out.

That’s exactly what happens on websites too. You’ve got just 15 seconds to make someone feel welcome and interested in what you have to offer.

Yes, that’s the average time spent on a website.

Most website owners haven’t figured this out yet.

So, how do you grab their attention right away?

👉 Lead magnets, such as PDFs, quizzes, or action plans, are like a free taste test but for capturing emails and building long-term engagement.

Why does this work so well?

When people land on your site, they want value. If you offer something helpful in exchange for their email, like a free action plan or a personalized quiz result, you’re building trust and setting the stage for future conversations.

Here’s what you can do first:

Choose your lead magnet: A PDF, quiz, or action plan that addresses your audience’s main pain points or interests.

For example, if you’re a fitness trainer, offer a “7-Day Home Workout Plan” PDF. If you’re a baker, create a “Top 10 Easy Dessert Recipes” guide.

Even if you’re just starting a blog about houseplants, you could offer a “Beginner’s Guide to Not Killing Your Plants.”

Think about what your audience needs most, and create something helpful around that.

Whatever it is, create it thoughtfully, with the help of AI tools, such as Claude.ai, and pack it into a PDF or maybe a quiz with tools like Interact.

Then, you can use platforms like Kit, Constant Contact, or even Beehiiv (yep, that’s an affiliate link, but you might thank me later) to integrate your sign-up forms and lead magnets.

These tools offer ready-made templates for pop-ups, landing pages, and email collection forms, so you don’t need to start from scratch.

So, what will you get from doing all of this?

Your email list grows all by itself, day and night, without you having to do extra work.

You get to know and help the exact people you want to reach by giving them something useful right away.

You nurture long-term relationships with your audience, and keep them coming back for more.

What I did first was create some free Pinterest templates as a freebie, it didn’t take me hours to create, but it helped many save at least an hour.

Even small things like this can make a huge difference!

Cheers to your growth,

Minosh.

Ever heard of Mister Splashy Pants? Back in 2007, Greenpeace ran a poll to name a whale for their anti-whaling campaign. They expected serious names. But the internet had other plans. Someone suggested Mister Splashy Pants. People loved it. The name blew up on Reddit, won the vote, and Greenpeace had to roll with it. The best part? That silly name helped the campaign get massive attention, and it helped stop the hunt. It’s a reminder that sometimes the internet behaves in unexpected ways, and...

Ever scrolled through Pinterest, seen a cool design, and wondered if it was made by a human or AI? Pinterest knows this curiosity matters. Now they’re rolling out clear labels on Pins created or changed by AI, so you always know what you’re looking at. Here’s what you need to know as a creator or business using Pinterest: Check Your Pins I’ve seen many creators and businesses now use AI to create even full text pins and artwork, but now, Pinterest will mark Pins that are made or changed by...

Most people still treat ChatGPT like Google. They ask a vague question, get a vague result, and blame the tool. But here’s the thing, prompting isn’t about typing, it’s about thinking. The Truth Most Don’t See You’re probably using AI to speed up tasks. But what if you could use it to speed up your thinking? If you’re a creator, freelancer, or founder, you’ve likely felt this: “I don’t know how to ask it right.” “My outputs feel basic or off.” “I keep tweaking… but it’s never exactly right.”...
