🤩 Sell Like a Friend

People want to connect with brands, not just buy from them!

Studies show that when customers feel close to a brand, they’re more likely to stick around and spend more money with them.

In fact, most people will pick a brand they feel connected to over other options.

You want to be cool and friendly, not that pushy salesperson everyone tries to avoid. But you also need to make money, right?

It’s not easy, but here are some simple ways to stay true to yourself and still get people excited about what you’re selling:

💭 Tip #1: If It Feels Cringe, Don’t Do It

You know that feeling when you look at something you made and cringe? Yeah, we all do!

And your audience will feel weird too if they can tell you’re not being yourself.

Just be you - if something doesn’t feel right when you’re creating it, it probably won’t feel right to your audience either.

🍞 Tip #2: Make Your Content Like a Sandwich

Picture your content like making a tasty sandwich:

  • First Layer: Share something helpful or fun with your audience - maybe a cool tip or story they’ll enjoy
  • The Middle: Mention what you’re offering, but keep it friendly - like you’re hanging out with a friend
  • Last Layer: Wrap up with more good stuff, so they walk away feeling happy they spent time with you

When you keep things balanced like this, people will enjoy your content more and feel like they can trust you.

And when people trust you, they’re more likely to buy from you! I mean, your goods, digital products, and even affiliate sales!

Here’s a simple way to start: Tell a story that people can relate to, or share an interesting fact that makes them go “wow!” Then show them how what you’re selling can make their life better or fix a problem they have.

If you need a helping hand, I’ve got some amazing tools that can help make your writing easier and more fun!

You’ve probably heard, “Features tell, but benefits sell,” and there’s a good reason this phrase keeps coming up. Think about it this way: people care more about how something makes their life better than a long list of fancy features. This matters whether you’re starting a small business, already have a big...

When I first started using Pinterest for my blog, I had no idea what to pin. I was posting random images and link them back to my posts and hoping something would stick. Spoiler alert: It didn’t. But after some time, I finally wrapped my head around the core concept that I had completely missed. Pinterest isn’t just a platform for pretty pictures. It’s a search engine. Yes, you may have already heard this, but something you might be doing wrong is not pinning what Pinterest users really want...

Think about being at a party. Someone says in a boring way “There’s some food if you want.” That’s a weak way to get people interested. But what if your friend comes up to you all excited and says “Hey! Sarah made this amazing chocolate cake - you need to try it, it’s right there in the kitchen!” That’s how you get people excited and ready to act. When it comes to online marketing, that’s what holds the power of guiding your audience on exactly what to do next, and we call them CTAs...
